Dollar A Day Conservation Program

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

The Alaska Wilderness Recreation & Tourism Association (AWRTA) invites Alaska visitors to  participate in an innovative funding mechanism for Alaska environmental and conservation groups. The AWRTA Dollars a Day for Conservation program helps Alaska visitors and AWRTA members fundraise together to support preservation of the habitats and wildlife you enjoy on your Alaska vacation. You can allocate “a dollar a day” to be donated via your tour operator to support Alaska environmental protection. Each AWRTA business member participating in the Dollars A Day Conservation Program has preselected the nonprofit organization(s) which receives the donations from their clients. All funds raised by this program go directly to specific organizations preserving Alaska's wild lands for future visitors.

Examples of beneficiary organizations supported by this program include:

  • The Alaska Conservation Foundation
  • Alaska Institute for Sustainable Recreation & Tourism (AISRT)

AWRTA members have raised thousands of dollars in support of Alaska environmental conservation through the AWRTA Dollar A Day Conservation Program.

Ask your tour operator to alert you to which organizations they are helping to support and please note that all Dollar A Day contributions are voluntary and tax deductible.
